James Cornell, M.D. Dr. Cornell is the Medical Director at Descanso Family Practice. He has served the medical needs of families in Glendale as far back as 1983,
and continuously since moving to Montrose in 1992. He enjoys making music on a variety of musical instruments.
Beth Marcus, M.D. Dr. Marcus has worked in the Glendale area since she began her residency here in 1986. She enjoys the whole range of Family Practice and especially welcomes
teens and their families.
Sawiris, M.D. Dr. Sawiris has been
practicing in the Glendale area since 1991. He believes preventive medicine is a way of living a long, healthy life. Dr. Sawiris enjoys reading medical magazines and journals, and playing tennis and chess.
Arpee Yeretzian, M.D. Dr. Yeretzian received her undergraduate and medical degree from the worldwide recognized 7-year medical school, Mkhitar Heratsi Medical Institute
in Yerevan, Armenia. After leaving a war-torn Beirut, she immigrated to Los Angeles, California and in 1996 she completed a 3-year residency program in Family Medicine at White Memorial Hospital. Dr. Yeretzian has
been practicing Family Medicine in Glendale, California immersing herself in the community since her graduation. One of her proudest achievements has been establishing and serving as the moderator for the first Armenian Breast
Cancer Support Group at Glendale Memorial Medical Center. Dr. Yeretzian believes in fostering long-term patient relationships and encourages her patients to be active participants and full partners in their healthcare.
She balances her dedication to her life-long love for medicine with raising two sons. She is an avid reader and loves to take hikes in Los Angeles and attend concerts at the Alex and the Hollywood Bowl.
Roxy Koupalian, P.A. Araksya “Roxy” Koupalian is a certified Physician Assistant who received her Master’s Degree from Western University of Health Services. She has
been practicing in the Glendale area for over 11 years. Mrs. Koupalian is experienced in diabetes, thyroid disease and all other endocrine illnesses. She is an advocate of preventive care that is both compassionate
and meets the psychological and social needs of the patient. She is fluent in Armenian and speaks some medical Spanish. During her leisure time, Mrs. Koupalian enjoys traveling with her husband and two children.
